WALKS & STORIES |
The Historical Walk The first farmers, Dina and Zacharius de Beer settled here in 1762 and established a loan farm called Kweekvallei. This walk introduces you to the de Beers and other families who have made Prince Albert what it is today. We walk past well-preserved buildings spanning almost two hundred years of history and architectural styles and hear about the builders and owners. The Anglo-Boer War touched Prince Albert - see the site of the British garrison camp and hear some of their tales. The gardens and orchards along the route are watered from the furrows which run through the village - enjoy the fragrances and learn more about the source of the water. The walk takes at least one and a half hours. Join me for a new perspective on our special village. This walk is avaiable during school holidays.
